Surfactant administration at 70 mg/kg significantly reduced adhesion area and intensity compared to control and adhesion groups in a rat model. Fibrosis and inflammation were also significantly lower with surfactant treatment. Results suggest that intraperitoneal surfactant can effectively prevent postoperative intraabdominal adhesion formation, highlighting its potential therapeutic value in reducing complications associated with abdominal surgeries.
