Approximately 1-2% of pregnant women undergo non-obstetric surgery under anaesthesia. This systematic review emphasizes the importance of thorough preoperative evaluation, modifications in anaesthetic management to accommodate physiological changes during pregnancy, and prompt urgent surgeries to optimize outcomes for both mother and foetus. Avoiding maternal hypoxaemia, hypotension, and stress, while considering regional anaesthesia when safe, can lead to favorable results in anaesthetic considerations for pregnant women undergoing non-obstetric operations.
